About Girls Shred
From a girls gossip with Munich MTB girls, the first Girls Ride in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis was born in 2020. For us girls it is partly very difficult to keep up with the boys and to connect with other girls, because we are still outnumbered. The male understanding towards women is sometimes not easy and the boys give the following tips, which they don't really explain and make us girls feel insecure:
"You have to pull off" or "just roll over it".
Sometimes you just mean the same thing, but maybe express it differently. Nevertheless, thanks to all the guys who support us with patience.
Every little success is celebrated together, pushing and motivating each other. "Seeing that after the 1st Girls Ride 2020 friendships were formed, joint bike vacations took place, makes me happy!" This is the reason why the 2nd Girls Ride was planned in the spring of 2021, even though it was more than unclear whether the event would take place due to the pandemic.
It is a special concern of mine to strengthen and further expand this community. This website is therefore also a contact point for all girls who are looking for contacts in the MTB scene.
Founder Bine Herzog
Mountainbikegirl from Munich
I was pretty lonely on my MTB until February 2019 and was tired of not being able to share my passion with anyone.
Of course, I wanted to quickly find people in my area who share the same passion for biking.
I searched for new contacts on various sites, including Facebook, Instagram, etc. and quickly realized that the event offerings were limited. Therefore, I started to organize Isartrails rides once a week.
What has always been a big dream at the beginning of my biking time, finally became a reality on April 19, 2019. I was able to go to the bike park for the first time through this community. Until the pandemic came, I continued the meetings as long as possible.
However, my goal is still to provide a place for people who are passionate about mountain bikes to share that passion and grow from it together. I'm not a professional and I'm not going to become one. But the fun of the sport is important to me and I want to share that with everyone.
